October 07, 2021 – Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) exhibit at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington D.C., October 11-13, 2021 (BOOTH 3025) will feature a variety of IAI's cutting-edge defense and security solutions. For the first time, the recently unveiled REX MK II Multi-Mission Autonomous vehicle will be displayed, alongside the IAI's partner BlueBird WanderB and ThunderB VTOL UAS, IAI’s loitering munitions family including Rotem, Harop and Green Dragon, and the flagship BARAK MX Air & Missile Defense System. IAI will hold a special announcement on the first day of the exhibition (Oct. 11) at 11:00am (EST) at IAI's booth 3025.
REX MK II is IAI’s newest unmanned land platform, intended to keep troops out of harm’s way in the complex battlefield. Sold to customers worldwide, REX MK II is an unmanned land vehicle adapted to a range of ground missions with advanced maneuverability with the ability to carry a load of 1.3 tons. The REX MK II can conduct attacks using remotely controlled weapons systems, including a 7.62mm machine gun and a 0.50 Cal heavy machine gun. The REX MK II is as a multi-mission, multi-purpose platform intended to support additional missions based on troops' needs. The new hybrid electric, all-wheel drive platform supports combat forces in gathering intelligence, providing logistical support and executing remote attacks.
In addition to the REX MK II, IAI is excited to display the WanderB and ThunderB VTOL UAS, developed by IAI partner BlueBird Aero Systems. This past year, IAI and BlueBird delivered 100 VTOL UAVs to a customer in Europe.
The leading loitering munition systems – Rotem, Harop and Green Dragon – are the result of over 30 years of experience in developing combat-proven loitering munitions systems. IAI’s solutions are uniquely capable of searching, identifying and neutralizing targets, precisely and effectively. Using various guidance systems and capabilities, IAI's loitering systems provide solutions to various battlefield scenarios.
Boaz Levy, IAI’s President and CEO, said: “IAI is pleased to participate in AUSA 2021. We have a long history of supporting US defense initiatives and working side-by-side with the US defense industry to develop and provide ground-breaking technological innovations. Just this past year, IAI supplied 400 Wind Guard Radar systems for the US Army’s Abrams tanks. Our shared values of innovation, defense and economic development are the basis of our fruitful collaboration, and IAI is excited for the opportunity to create new partnerships and collaborations with local defense companies during AUSA. IAI is proud to continue pushing technological boundaries and creating cutting-edge solutions to today's security needs – one of our newest innovations, to be revealed in a special announcement during AUSA, is a testament to our capabilities. We are excited to find new partners in the US defense ecosystem and be at the forefront of creating solutions to the security and defense industry's needs.”
